A 2 Step Process to Shifting Your Mindset

  1. Get Centered. Stop what you’re doing, get to a quiet spot – even if that has to be in your stationary car – and be still. Just breathe. And again. One more time. One more.
  2. Pretend You’re Someone Else. Humor me and stand up wherever you are. Close your eyes. For just a few moments, sweep aside all the stories you’ve been repeating in your mind. Now, imagine you’re looking over your own shoulder. Take in the situation that’s been bothering you – the one that’s nagging you from within. From the spot over your own shoulder, what do you notice first? What’s the first new thought you have (after you elbowed those inner critics out of the way)? Write it down, then go on with your day.
