I’ve been a writer for a lot of years, but…

Not a real writer – at least that’s the story I told myself. Writing copy is not real writing – it’s promotional, not substantive or meaningful. Somewhere during all of that business of writing, I found my own voice.

With it I’ve written Out of My Mind, How I Lost My Sanity and Found My Self. It’s the story of facing your demons early as illustrated by a woman who lost and then found her mind at the age of nineteen. I am that woman.

Thirty-five years later, I reflect on that pivotal event which led me on a journey of self-recovery to embrace uncomfortable truths, honor who I really am and discover the power of authentic faith. Overcoming mental illness, alcohol addiction and a crisis of identity set my life on a trajectory that would transform who I was and how I have chosen to live.

This story is more than a look back. The deeper meaning of Out of My Mind alludes to how I am living presently. Learning how to manage my thoughts and get out of my mind has enabled me to live fully and happily. This is what fuels my coaching practice as I support others in defining and determining how to communicate authentically and live/work with intention.

This book is scheduled to be published in 2027 by She Writes Press and is intended to comfort and support anyone in crisis or simply living through a complicated life transition.
